New Piece of 767 Found Near World Trade Center Site in April 2013

One week ago a large piece of a aircraft, described as a "trailing edge flap support structure" was discovered in a narrow alley near the World Trade Center site. While eleven and a half years have passed since the attacks on the World Trade Center, it is believed that the debris is from one of the two 767s to strike the World Trade Center on 9/11/01. The piece is 5' x 4' x 1.5', and therefore is a good sized piece of debris. It is said that it very clearly had a Boeing Identification number. It has not been determined which plane the piece came from.

While it is unclear how such a large piece of debris could go so long undetected, authorities have stated that they don't believe there are any human remains in the area, though they continue to search. It is unclear what the future holds for this new discovery.

Debunked: The BBC Reported the Collapse of 7 WTC Early

One of the favorite pieces of evidence used by many conspiracy theorists that there was something fishy about the collapse of 7 WTC is that a BBC reporter (Jane Standley) and the BBC network actually reported that the building had collapsed before it actually did. It is a compelling video and a strange and chilling mistake (if that is what you believe it is). But is it proof that there was a conspiracy? To be a conspiracy, that would mean that some media outlet in the United States under the control of the government (or perhaps just some agency of the government itself) sent out a press release of the collapse of 7 WTC (Called "The Salomon Brothers Building" here because the building's main tenant was an investment bank called Saloman Brothers) to the BBC who accidentally read it too early. When Standley realizes her mistake, conspiracy theorists claim, she quickly changes the subject.

The problem with this report as evidence for conspiracy is that it implies that a substantial number of people at BBC News had foreknowledge of and, in some way, were complicit in a conspiracy with the United States Government in the attack of September 11th, 2001. While I have a distaste for leaching news reporters and a distrust for bias corporate media in general, I find it hard to believe that so many people could be involved in this conspiracy of mass murder and not a single one would object morally or whistleblow about what they knew. If there was a conspiracy, in my opinion and that of others here at theRealTruth911, it was played out in the simplest way by the smallest number of people possible. There was no need for the risk of letting the news media in on the secret. Instead I think this is evidence that the news media played their part in any alleged conspiracy (if there was one) exactly how the conspirists would have hoped: with confusion and misinformation that obfuscates the pursuit of the real truth.

So why did they misreport this information? Before taking a stab at an answer for this I also want to point out that this mysterious conspiracy theory and supposed video of a live broadcast appeared several years after 9/11, and I have heard some people question whether or not this video has been doctored. However, I believe it to be genuine and the result of the BBC confusing reports that the fire department had pulled their crews out of 7 WTC (the infamous "I told them to pull it" quote) due to the imminent collapse of the building and reporting the building's actual collapse accidentally. The fact that it was the BBC makes them especially vulnerable to this confusion, as the reporter probably had no idea what building was the Saloman Brothers Building. To me this seems far more likely than involving various news media outlets internationally in the mass murder of nearly 3,000 innocent civilians and risking the conspiracy breaking being exposed.

EXAMINING THE CONSPIRACY THEORIES OF 9/11

Everybody who was alive on the Tuesday September 11, 2001 remembers the events of that terrible day. The reason the images are so indelible is that millions and millions of people worldwide watched the events transpire on live television, making this history event especially unique. While the official investigation has long since closed its books, concluding that 19 hijackers carried out the attack with help from an Al Qaida terrorist organization. Today, however, popular doubts have led to a rising conspiracy that the events of 9/11 were not what we were told they were. Theories range from explosives planted at the World Trade Center in advance to ensure their total demise, to those who believe there were no planes at all. This article examines 5 popular conspiracy theories regarding 9/11 and shows how the evidence to support these claims isn't really there.

5. There Were No Planes- This popular theory suggests that the planes we supposedly saw crash into the WTC towers never existed, that they were digitally added to the live media broadcasts. All supposed "amateur" footage that has been released was government-planted and any real amateur video that suggests anything other than the official story has been confiscated and altered. Some versions of this theory suggest that there were planes but that they were either military or unmanned drones of some kind. Sometimes it is suggested that the commercial planes were real but that the planes were altered in advance to accommodate explosives. The most bizarre No Plane theory even suggest that a high-tech hologram was used to fool witnesses on the streets.

WHY IT DOESN'T HOLD UP- While this nefarious aspect of the 9/11 attack is so horrifying that it is easy to see why someone would question it, the simple complexity of this theory makes it extremely unlikely. The "No Plane" variations have two major flaws that leads to this fatal complexity: the simple number of people that would need to be involved and the airline passengers. In order to have all major News networks and enough FBI or CIA or whoever involve to kidnap 246 known passengers from four planes and force the to make faked phone calls to their loved ones, and digitally tamper with live television simultaneously on major television networks, an operation of this size would have required thousands of involved co-conspirators. The likelihood of of being able to keep quiet such a large operation not to mention simply execute it with the degree of necessary perfection is simply unfathomable.

Some claim that the above photo is proof of the "no plane theory" as it shows the digitally created airplane emerging from the backside of the building. The truth, however, is that this is indeed the nose of the airplane, or the front at least erupting through the backside of the building after passing completely through the building. As can be seen in many angles, the nose of the plane crashed through the building and landed several blocks away.

4. Free Fall Speed/Controlled Demolition

A top conspiracy theory regards the speed in which the towers of the WTC collapsed. It has been claimed that since the buildings collapsed in about nine seconds (which has been described as "free fall speed" as it is the speed in which an object falling from the top of WTC unimpeded would take to reach the ground. The claim is that the collapsing buildings would have encountered resistance from the mostly undamaged lower floors and only a building whose central columns were cut could have fallen in 9 seconds. This theory extends the "Freefall evidence" to suggest that since the buildings collapsed so quickly and cleanly

WHY THIS DOESN'T HOLD UP: The main problem with this theory is that the buildings very clearly did not fall at free fall speed. Simple review of the evidence shows that the South Tower collapsed in about 15 seconds while the North Tower (whose damage was higher on the building) collapsed in about 22 seconds. Many "Truthers" claim that the buildings collapsed too cleanly into their own footprint, evidence of a "controlled demolition". While much of the debris did fall into the WTC's massive five-floor basement complex, a huge amount was scattered over a disastrously the huge area that became known as "Ground Zero." The area was so large it took over half a year to clean up. The video that is linked below is of the collapse of the North Tower and shows that the building clearly falls slower than the "free fall" speed of 9 seconds claimed by conspiracy theorists.

The building begins to collapse at 1:43 in the video. After 9 seconds (at 1:52) at least half the building is still standing. It is difficult to see when the building is done collapsing due to the smoke but at 2:11 (19 seconds after the collapse began) you can clearly see a large spire of the building still standing. This interesting and original angle was shot from a boat on the Hudson as you will see in this video:

3. No Wreckage for Flight 77 & 93

Many claim that there was no wreckage suggesting a plane crash at either of the crash sites for Flight 77 (The Pentagon) and Flight 93 (Shanksville, PA). Additional theories claim that the crash sites at the Pentagon and the field in Pennsylvania did not look like crash sites of large commercial airplanes, the the respective hole and crater at the sites were not large enough.

WHY IT DOESN'T HOLD UP: A simple Internet search on the subject will turn up numerous photos of the crash site in Pennsylvania in which there is a significant amount of debris that is clearly identifiable as airplane. The plane's black box was also recovered. DNA from all but one of the victims has also been recovered. Half burned driver's licenses of several passengers were also recovered. Keep in mind that the reason this crash site was in worse shape, say, than other non-9/11 crashes we have seen was the extreme angle in which the airplane came down. In most crashes the pilot would be fighting until the very end to salvage a reasonable landing. In Shanksville, the plane was crashed deliberately and at a very steep angle. At the Pentagon, it is often claimed that the hole in the Pentagon is too small to be caused by an airplane. The truth is that the airplane was poorly steered and actually skipped off the ground before before impacting the Pentagon. At least five telephone/light poles were sheered off by its approach. It is likely that the wings were ripped off the plane before it crashed.

2. WTC 7 Fell Suspiciously

Many people claim the collapse of WTC 7 is the "smoking gun" of a conspiracy. The claim is that no high rise building that has not been hit by a plane has ever collapsed from fire alone. The manner that it collapsed too was too clean and too fast, nearly free-fall speed. There are also people who claim that the fire department and Larry Silverstein (who owns the WTC complex) knew ahead of time that the building was going to be destroyed, often employing a quote where Silverstein tells the Fire commander to "pull" right before the building falls.

WHY IT DOESN'T HOLD UP: While it is true that once WTC 7 got going it did fall fast, most of the conspiracy videos are deceptive in how they present the collapse. Most videos show the collapse from the north and like to point out how un-damaged the building appears. There are two things about this presentation that a review of all the raw materials shows is deceptive. The first is that since this building was located north of the towers, the side you are looking was not damaged by the falling towers, so claims that this building fell from fire alone are deceiving. There are hardly any photos from the south face of the building because a person would have had to be standing at Ground Zero (an area that was shut down to all media) to take them. Some photos and videos from firefighters does exist, however, that show the extreme damage that was done to the south face of the building and that very large fires raged there for many hours. The second deceptive part of the "truthers" presentation is that it starts the video too late, not showing the collapse of the penthouse unit about 20 seconds before the main collapse. A huge portion of the building on the southeast corner falls, showing obviously that unstable structure was falling apart and that collapse was imminent. While the collapse of the portion of the building that is visible does collapse in about 7 seconds, a huge portion of the building had already fallen. If you start the timer when the building actually starts to collapse, it takes almost 30 seconds.

1. Fires Weren't Hot Enough to Melt Steel

This claim is that the fires from the exploding jet fuel and the subsequent inferno it caused was not hot enough to melt the steel and cause it to fail, as was suggest in the National Institute for Standards and Technology (NIST) report. Steel melts around 2,500 degrees Fahrenheit and the fires at the WTC were estimated only to reach about 1,500 degrees. How then could the steel have failed?

WHY IT DOESN'T  HOLD UP: While steel melts at 2,500 degrees, it can weaken severely when it reaches just over 1,000 degrees Fahrenheit. Even ordinary fires can easily reach this temperature. This problem was further exacerbated by the antiquated spray-on asbestos fireproofing that was easily peeled off by the impact itself. Add to this the fact that a good portion of the exterior and interior load-bearing columns we damaged or destroyed by the impact itself and it is no surprise that the buildings failed.
